Pixel & Wire Managed Workplace

Your people.
Ready to work.

Everything your people need to work securely—from identity and email to devices, applications and support.

Designed for creative agencies, studios, production teams and growing creative businesses. An outsourced IT department that joins up the working day.

Managed Workplace is the longer-term service we're building towards. Talk to us about the right scope for your team in Bristol or across the UK.

People first

Joining. Moving. Leaving.

Someone joins. They can work. Something breaks. They keep working. Someone leaves. Access ends properly.

User onboarding and offboarding should follow an agreed process, not whoever remembers to send an email.

Joiner

The right accounts, applications and equipment, ready for the person doing the work.

See the joiner checklist
  • Create their identity and email account.
  • Assign the correct licence.
  • Set up groups, applications and permissions.
  • Allocate a Mac or PC and coordinate delivery ready to use.
  • Activate extra sign-in protection (MFA) and security controls.
  • Record the completed onboarding.

Mover

A new role should mean the right access, not another layer of old permissions.

See the mover checklist
  • Update the job role and manager.
  • Remove access they no longer need.
  • Assign access for the new role.
  • Review licences and group membership.
  • Reconsider any administrator or other privileged access.
  • Make sure the change is authorised and recorded.

Leaver

Close access properly, preserve the business's work and bring equipment back into the fold.

See the leaver checklist
  • Disable sign-in at the agreed time and revoke active sessions.
  • Remove access to applications.
  • Preserve or transfer email and business files.
  • Recover the hardware.
  • Securely wipe and rebuild the device.
  • Remove licences that are no longer needed.
  • Produce a record of the completed offboarding.
The right environment

Microsoft or Google.
Mac-first or mixed.

The platform matters less than whether it is secure, manageable and right for the way your people work.

Accounts that match the job.

Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online, or Google Workspace and Gmail: we can administer users, email accounts, mailboxes, licences and cloud file and collaboration services.

Apple-only or a mix of Macs and PCs, the aim is the same: a working environment your team can use and your business can manage.

The right people. The right access.

Identity and access management connects people's roles to the services they need. Multi-factor authentication (MFA) adds sign-in protection; single sign-on (SSO) keeps access simpler.

Administration uses controlled, delegated access. Permissions, approvals and changes should be visible, not held in somebody's head.

Managed Macs and PCs

More than handing over a laptop.

Device management starts before the box arrives and continues until the equipment is responsibly retired.

Choose and prepare.

  • Help select the right equipment, plan budgets and replacement cycles, and coordinate approved purchasing.
  • Record serial numbers, warranties and ownership.
  • Configure devices in client-owned management systems. For Macs, Apple Business Manager and zero-touch deployment can make setup simpler.
  • Deploy the right software, applications and security policies, then coordinate delivery ready for the intended user.

Keep it working.

  • Monitor endpoint security and keep operating systems and applications patched.
  • Manage assets and software licences as the team changes.
  • Provide remote support and coordinate suppliers and repairs.
  • Report on device security, compliance and upcoming lifecycle decisions.

Plan the next chapter.

  • Review ageing equipment and plan replacements before they become a scramble.
  • Securely wipe, rebuild and reassign equipment when roles or users change.
  • Support responsible retirement and disposal.

Your technology remains yours.

We simply make it work properly.

You retain ownership of your domain, cloud tenant, Apple Business Manager account and business devices. Pixel & Wire receives controlled, delegated access to manage them, within the scope you approve.

Creative continuity

Keep Creating

Planned pilot service

Emergency replacement Macs for creative teams.

Keep Creating is being developed as a continuity option for managed clients. Talk to us if your business would be interested in joining the pilot.

How the proposed service would work.

  1. Pixel & Wire would maintain secure, updated loan Macs.
  2. If a supported client's device failed, we'd first diagnose it remotely.
  3. Where appropriate and available, a prepared replacement could be issued while the original was repaired.
  4. The user would resume work through approved cloud services and applications.
  5. After return, the loan machine would be securely erased and rebuilt.

Eligibility, loan availability and delivery arrangements would be agreed as part of the pilot.

By arrangement

Remote support.
No mystery.

Planned support setup

We're preparing attended remote assistance using Splashtop SOS. When a session is arranged, you run a temporary support application and provide a code for that session. You remain in control and can end the session.

Never provide a remote-support code unless you are already speaking with Pixel & Wire.

Tell us what's driving you mad.

A new starter without a working setup. Access nobody quite owns. Devices that need a plan. Start with what's getting in the way; you don't need to arrive with a service catalogue memorised.
