Who we are
Pixel & Wire runs this website for creative businesses and is responsible for deciding how personal information collected through it is used. This notice covers website visits and enquiries under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
For privacy questions or requests, email hello@pixelandwire.com.
What we collect
Our enquiry form asks for your name, email address, an optional company name, an optional service choice and a description of what you need help with. We also receive the information you choose to include in emails and subsequent correspondence.
Your name, email and message are needed to send the form and let us respond. Please avoid sending passwords, access codes or sensitive personal information.
When you visit, our hosting provider processes technical request information such as your IP address, requested page, browser information and the time of the request to deliver and protect the website. We do not use analytics or advertising trackers. See our Cookie Notice.
Why we use it
- Responding to enquiries: our legitimate interests in communicating with prospective clients and understanding their business needs. Where you ask about entering a contract with us personally, we may instead need the information to take steps at your request before entering that contract.
- Operating and protecting the website: our legitimate interests in delivering a reliable website, preventing spam and investigating misuse.
- Meeting legal requirements: compliance with a legal obligation where the law requires us to keep or disclose information.
We consider your interests and rights when relying on legitimate interests. An ordinary enquiry does not require marketing consent. This website does not sign you up to a newsletter or use your enquiry for profiling or automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
Who receives information
Netlify provides website hosting and form processing. Enquiry details are processed through Netlify Forms so we can receive and handle your message. Our email provider also processes correspondence when we reply.
Access is limited to people who need it to handle the enquiry or operate the website, and relevant providers acting for us. Information may also be shared with professional advisers or authorities when necessary to meet legal obligations or establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We do not sell enquiry information.
International transfers
Netlify and its service providers may process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Netlify’s published Data Processing Agreement includes international-transfer provisions, including standard contractual clauses with the UK Addendum where applicable.
Transfers must have a valid UK data-protection basis, such as UK adequacy regulations or appropriate contractual safeguards. Contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your information and how to obtain a copy.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry correspondence while considering and responding to your request and for as long as it remains necessary for relevant follow-up. Retention depends on whether the enquiry is still active, whether it becomes a client relationship and whether records are needed for legal obligations or a dispute.
When those purposes no longer apply, information should be deleted or anonymised, including copies held in the form inbox and email. Technical records are retained according to the hosting provider’s operational and security requirements. Contact us about the retention of a particular enquiry.
Keeping information secure
We use proportionate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including HTTPS for transmission to the website. No website, transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Please contact us if you think information sent to us has been compromised.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access your personal information, correct it, have it erased, restrict its use or receive a portable copy where that right applies.
You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. We must stop unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or need the information for legal claims. You have an absolute right to object to the use of your information for direct marketing. This website does not currently collect newsletter subscriptions.
If we ever rely on your consent for a separate activity, you can withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. These rights are subject to the conditions and exemptions in UK data-protection law.
Requests and complaints
Email hello@pixelandwire.com with your request and enough detail to help us find the relevant information. We may need to confirm your identity. Requests are normally free and we normally respond within one month; we will explain any lawful extension or applicable exception.
You can also complain directly to the UK’s data-protection regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office. You do not have to contact us first.
Changes to this notice
We will update this page when our website or information-handling practices change. The date above shows when the notice was last updated.
